In this module, you’ll learn your first useful German phrases and then discover how simple German statements and questions are built. By the end, you’ll already understand how German sentences begin to work — and that is a very nice little victory.

Now we start giving your German sentences a little more power. In this module, you’ll learn how to say what belongs to whom, how German verbs change depending on the person, and how the accusative case works. That may sound serious — and yes, German grammar has entered the room — but we’ll take it step by step, with clear examples and no unnecessary panic.

In this module, we finish your A1.1 foundation with some very useful German tools. You’ll learn how plurals work, how to use important modal verbs like “can,” “should,” “must,” and “want,” and how to tell the time in German. Yes, German plurals may try to test your patience a little — but don’t worry, we’ll handle them together. By the end of this module, you’ll be able to say much more about what people do, want, need, and when things happen.

Time to see what you’ve learned so far — but don’t worry, this is not a monster waiting under the bed. In this test, you’ll review the most important grammar, vocabulary, and sentence patterns from A1.1. Take your time, read carefully, and use it as a chance to check what already feels comfortable and what may need one more little round of practice.
