Module 1: Past Tense Review, Time Expressions & Präteritum

Welcome to A2.1! In this module, we begin by strengthening your German foundation and carefully stepping into more advanced territory. You’ll review the Perfekt, learn useful time expressions and prepositions, work with verbs that need specific cases, and meet the Präteritum. It sounds like German is putting on a serious jacket now — but don’t worry, we’ll keep everything clear, practical, and pleasant

Lesson 2.1 - Perfect Review and Konjunktiv II with können and sollen
Lesson 2.2 - Temporal Prepositions and Verbs with Cases
Lesson 2.3 - Präteritum

Module 2: Verbs, Clauses & Sentence Flow

German now becomes more expressive — and a little more opinionated. This module focuses on verbs that like to travel with prepositions, sentences with “dass” and “weil,” and the small words that quietly change the meaning of a sentence. These topics may look harmless, but they do a lot of work. Once you understand them, your German will sound more natural, more precise, and much less like a collection of lonely beginner sentences.

Lesson 2.4 - Prepositional Verbs
Lesson 2.5 - Subordinate Clauses with DASS and WEIL
Lesson 2.6 - Sentence Structure with smaller words

Module 3: Richer Sentences, Adjectives & Time Clauses

This module is all about making your German more detailed and more connected. You’ll learn how to describe people and things with relative sentences, how adjective endings work after definite articles, how der-words and ein-words behave, and how to use “wenn” and “als” to talk about repeated situations and past events. In other words: your sentences are about to get longer, smarter, and slightly more German than before.

Lesson 2.7 - Relative Sentences (NOM + AKK)
Lesson 2.8 - Adjective Declension with Definite Articles
Lesson 2.9 - Der-Words and Ein-Words
Lesson 2.10 - Subordinate Clauses with WENN/ALS
